My Vacation in Perth, Australia by Gneb

I just returned from Perth earlier this week (that explains the long suspense). I had never stepped foot in the Land Down Under before this, so that was one vacation that I was willing to risk infecting with H1N1 for. Not to mention the anticipation to visit the wineries in Margaret River.

Perth is a nice city with fresh air, clean environment and a laid back lifestyle (perhaps a bit too laid back for me). Nevertheless, it’s beautiful. People here get good quality of life. Apparently, most of them work only until 4pm (isn’t that heaven??) and most of the shops close by 5pm (which could be a bit hellish for a nocturnal person like me). Environmental consciousness among the people is high. This is a place where you’ll even have to wash the tuna cans before you thrown them into the recycling bin!

Nice apartment

As Perth is also full of Asians, it never falls short of Asian food varieties. On the first day, we already had Chinese food at Good Fortune at Northbridge (aka Chinatown).

In winter, there’s nothing more satisfying than having all these delicious dishes with a bowl of steaming fragrant rice.

Penangites and our famous Laksa and Hokkien Mee. We take them everywhere we go, don't we?

The deities have migrated too it seems..

Pondan!?!?

In the evening, when the sun sets and the lights are up, King’s Park is such an ideal place to be. Here, you get the fresh cool air plus the magnificent city view of Perth.
